Bys Vyken Events & Cornish Trails

                   Discover The Heritage

Welcome to Bys Vyken Events

We are committed and passionate about giving you a running experience unlike any other.

Take a look around you when you're running in this magnificent county. What do you see? A broken old engine house? A stile? Perhaps an old stone that's more like a giant round boulder? Ever wondered about its history?

Too many runners tend to focus on the route and never the history behind it. Cornwall has the most stunning land and seascape in the British Isles. We down here aren't just famous for pasties and clotted cream. We invented steam engines, the miners lamp and even discovered laughing gas!

Our near 300 mile section of the SWCP tells stories of swashbuckling, death, treasure, broken souls, heartbreak, smuggling and good old Cornish Free Trade.

They may have taken our mining from us and with fishing seemingly next, there's one thing they will never take...OUR HERITAGE!

With every race comes a new experience. A new chance to learn the heritage of our routes...

The Cousin Jack Classic on St Piran's weekend honouring those who came before us and those who paved the way for us by bettering their own lives for the benefit of their families. Those who travelled to countries unknown to them,  knowing they'd never make it back home and taking all their mining knowledge with them.

At the bottom of every pit in the world you will find a Cornishman!

Or perhaps you fancy the Fordh Sen Mighal which is a micro pilgrimage from Lelant to Marazion. St Michael's Way being the UKs ONLY designated European Cultural route.

Other events include a Pirate themed coastal half marathon along a prolific smuggling section of the North coast of Cornwall and a Western movie related 5k that follows Britain's most beautiful train branch line along the coast with glorious views of a world famous bay.

We also have some epic coastal pirate and cowboy running along with the most bonkers 12 hour tarmac experience in West Cornwall!!!

Some of your entry fees will go toward the RSPB, National Trust , St Erth Christmas Light Committee and Pendeen Community Heritage whom without, there wouldn't be a place where we could learn about our rich and glorious mining history with so much depth, love and affection.

Run into history with Bys Vyken Events,
