LAP DISTANCE = 9 MILES
*4.5 OUT/4.5 BACK- INCLUDING DROPPING BACK INTO RACE HQ AT EVERY LAP*

RULES

  • 1/ NO STOPPING AND WAITING AT HELL’S MOUTH FOR ANY OTHER REASON THAN TO MAKE USE OF THE SUPPLIES AT THE TURNAROUND POINT. TOILET BREAKS AT THE HELLS MOUTH CAFÉ ARE AT YOUR OWN RISK AND ARE AT YOUR OWN RESPONSIBILITY. WE DO NOT HAVE A LOLLIPOP LADY HOLDING YOUR HAND ACROSS THE B33O1 COAST ROAD. TOILETS HERE ARE ONLY OPEN IN BUSINESS TIMES (10AM -4PM ONLY) SO PACK A SHIT KIT.

  • 2/ YOU ARE ONLY ALLOWED IN ‘THE WATERFRONT’ TURNAROUND IN PORTREATH FOR 15 MINUTES OR YOU WILL BE DISQUALIFIED. YOU CAN FIND HOT FOOD/SUPPLIES AND TOILET FACILITIES HERE. YOU CAN HAVE ACCESS TO A DROP BAG/BOX HERE ONLY. YOU WILL NEED TO LABEL THESE YOURSELF AND THEY ARE LEFT AT YOUR OWN RISK AND IT'S YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO MAINTAIN AND LOOK AFTER.

  • 3/ THIS IS A LAP EVENT AND NOT AN EVENT BASED ON WHO HAS DONE MORE MILEAGE. LAPS WILL BE COUNTED AND THE PERSON WITH THE MOST WILL BE DECLARED THE WINNER. IF YOU SPRINT FINISH THE PERSON WHO IS ON THE SAME LAP AS YOU, YOU WILL NOT BEAT THEM. IF YOU TAKE 2 HOURS TO COMPLETE THE LAST LAP AND THEY TAKE 2 HOURS AND 1 MINUTE YOU WILL STILL BE EQUAL. LEARN TO PLAY THE GAME AND DO not WHINGE ABOUT THESE RULES POST RACE!

  • 4/ IF YOU HAVE AT LEAST 1 SECOND LEFT BEFORE THE END OF THE ALLOCATED TIME ON YOUR SPECIFIC EVENT THEN YOU NEED TO GET BACK OUT ON COURSE AND COMPLETE ANOTHER LAP. FAILURE TO DO SO WILL RESULT IN DISQAULIFICATION. YOU CAN NOT USE THE ’15 MINUTE SHELTER’ RULE TO YOUR BENEFIT IF YOU HAVE 15 MINUTES OR LESS REMAINING UNTIL THE TIME IS UP. BEING ALLOWED A 15 MINUTE REPRIEVE DOESN'T WORK FOR YOUR FINAL LAP.TIME WASTING WILL NOT BE TOLERATED, ESPECIALLY ON THE LAST LAP.

  • 5/ IF YOU HAVE GONE BACK OUT WITH 15 MINUTES OR LESS TO SPARE UNTIL THE EXPIRITION OF THE TIME LIMIT (AS PER THE RULE ABOVE), YOU WILL HAVE 3 HOURS TO COMPLETE THIS LAP OR YOU WILL FACE DISQUALIFICATION FOR NOT MAKING THE CUT OFF (9:19PM ON SUNDAY 6TH OCTOBER 2019).

  • 6/ THOSE STILL OUT ON THE COURSE AFTER THE TIME IS UP WILL STILL HAVE TO COMPLETE THEIR LAP AND IT WILL STILL BE COUNTED. FAILURE TO GET TO THE END WILL RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION.

  • 7/ NO SKIPPING THE COURSE. YOU WILL ALL BE FITTED WITH A TRACKING DEVICE TO YOUR HYDRATION PACK/RUCKSACK. THIS TRACKER IS FOR THE BENEFIT OF YOUR SAFETY AND COURSE CHEATING PRIMARILY AND NOT THERE SO YOUR FRIENDS CAN GO 'GAGA' ABOUT IT ON FACEBOOK. SKIPPING THE COURSE WILL GET YOU DISQUALIFIED.

  • 8/ LITTERING WILL GET YOU DISQAULIFIED.

  • 9/ FULL KIT MUST BE CARRIED AT ALL TIMES AND NOT DUMPED AT RACE HQ/TURNAROUNDS OR DUMPED/LEFT WITH MARSHALS. YOUR KIT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY.

  • 10/ NO SUPPORT RUNNERS ALLOWED. THIS WILL RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION.

11/ Everytime you get back to Portreath you will swap your used 'return journey to Hell' ticket for a new one. You will get the newer one punched at 'Hell's Mouth' and then will have to bring it back to Portreath. Remember, you have a tracker. We WILL know that you've not been there if you decide to try to cheat the course. Each time you hand in your ticket for another, your lap time will be recorded. There will be a break down of all your lap times on the final results. The return tickets will help us with logging your laps. This is not one of those fancy 'barcode scanning' events. This is an event of old school punishment.

1
2/ 11 laps will be accepted for a buckle.

13/ unlucky 13th rule...
ON  the final LAP FOR ALL PARTICIPANTS OF THE 12 AND 24
you have to run to the top of 'lighthouse  hill' in portreath, touch the lighthouse and then come back to the start/finish location. this hill is a bitch and is totally unnecessary.  LED/RED BACKLIGHTS MUST BE WORN ALL THROUGHOUT THE NIGHT on coast and in the town.
