REFUNDS. DEFERRALS WILL BE ALLOWED TO NEXT YEAR’S EVENT ONLY AND NO OTHER RACE
RACE DIRECTORS RESERVE THE RIGHT TO REFUSE ENTRY AND REFUND ENTRANTS FOR ANY REASON SEEN FIT AT ALL TIMES.
FROM MARCH 1ST 2020, OUR NEW POLICY WILL BE NO TRANSFERS OR REFUNDS. DEFERRALS WILL BE ALLOWED TO NEXT YEAR’S EVENT ONLY! ALL DEFERRALS ACCEPTED BEFORE 21 DAYS BEFORE EVENT DAY.
All participants in all Bys Vyken Event races should be aware that running and volunteering for these events includes potentially hazardous activities which could lead to causes of injury, or in the most extremely rare cases, death. You should not contemplate entering and participating in this chosen event unless you are medically fit and able to perform the chosen event and appropriately trained and ready, and by your own signature on the day of your chosen event you certify that you are physically capable of performing this, including the right of any volunteer, marshal, medical personnel and any other member of our event crew team to deny or suspend your participation for any reason whatsoever. You, by your signature on event day will attest to the fact that you have read all of this clearly and agree to abide by this. You should assume all risks associated with running in the chosen events, including, but not limited to: falls; contact with other pedestrian traffic; contact with other participants; the effects of the weather; the conditions of the coast path and trails and roads and dog walkers and grazing farm animals on the coast path and other public rights of way, the muddy and slippery nature of said public rights of way, the technical sections of the coast path, steps, bridges, streams and areas extremely close to the cliff edges, all such risks being known to and appreciated by you.
All participants take part at their own acknowledgement that the disclaimer waives all claims against Bys Vyken Events, Bys Vyken Race Team and any party working on their behalf including all supporting sponsors, businesses and event HQ venues.
Runners wishing to participate with dogs (canicross) can do so but will only be limited to one dog per runner. They must take note of the fact they should be starting at the back on the start line and will have their times recorded as assisted and have a 1 minute delayed start. Don't let this put you off though as your dog will also receive a memento. Not every event we stage is dog-runner friendly. Please familiarise yourself with the individual rules of each event before committing.
Participants must follow instructions as given from all event officials including race staff, volunteers, medical personnel, staff from any of our race HQ venues and any other officials throughout the events.
All participants are expected to conduct themselves in a professional and respectful way and violating this code of conduct will result in permanent disqualification to all future events hosted by us.
Any participant who refuses to obey the directions of an event official or course marshal, or who conducts themselves in an unsportsman-like manner, or who is offensive to anyone will also be disqualified.
Participants are responsible for their recognition and understanding of event signage, symbols and colours relating to maps, facilities and directions.
Event officials reserve the right to delay, cancel, or suspend the race at any given time in the lead up to the event or during due to inclement weather.
Bys Vyken Events & Cornish Trails, Bys Vyken Race Team and any party acting on their behalf is not responsible for the cost of any medical treatment given to you away from our own personal medical team booked at each event, ie, private medical fees.
All and any runner will be disqualified due to misbehaved dogs and/or failure to clean up after the dog. Also please be aware we will be travelling through farmland on occasions so there will be other animals such as cows, sheep, horses and other dog walkers/ runners not associated with our events on the day. Please keep the dogs under control.
You should accept that the use of headphones is extremely dangerous due to the sections we shall be taking in such as the South West Coast Path and stretches of busy roads on a Saturday. It’s also dangerous because marshal instructions cannot be heard properly, therefore you are advised that we don’t accept the use of them in any races whatsoever.
No amount of litter on the courses will ever be accepted by us. ALL marshal points will have rubbish bags to get rid of your empty bar/gel wrappers and empty bottles and I'm sure you will have a spare pocket in which to store your rubbish.
Any litter dropping on the course will result in disqualification. There are animals wildly grazing in places and they shouldn't suffer because of careless littering. Raising money for such charities as The National Trust means we here at Bys Vyken Events are passionate and appreciate the hard work these charities do to maintain the landscape that we all so often take for granted.
There will be cut off times as stated in the main 'Race Day Info' section on this website(the same one which will be emailed to you 14 days prior to your chosen event).
All events will be limited to 'X' participants only and there will be mementos to every finisher (including participant's canine).
EVENT ORGANISERS CAN PULL/CANCEL THE EVENT FOR A NUMBER OF REASONS, BUT NOT LIMITED TO WEATHER OR PANDEMICS.
PARTICIPANTS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR PROVIDING THEIR OWN PPE (FACE MASKS/GLOVES ETC) IF THEY FEEL THEY SHOULD NEED IT. BYS VYKEN EVENTS & CORNISH TRAILS IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR SUPPLYING OR BUYING YOUR PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT.

ROAD EVENTS (UNDER 17 YEARS = 6500 METRES/ 4 MILES)
ROAD EVENTS (UNDER 20 YEARS = 10000 METRES/6.2 MILES)
ROAD EVENTS (SENIORS/OVER 20 YEARS = UNLIMITED)
THESE ARE THE GUIDE LINES SET OUT TO US AND THEY ARE THE GUIDELINES TO ABIDE BY UNLESS SPECIFICALLY STATED WITHIN OUR RACE LITERATURE, ADVERTISING ONLINE OR ANYWHERE ELSE.

FROM THE MOMENT OF ENTRY COSTS BEGIN TO INCUR. REFUNDS WILL ONLY HAPPEN IN THE EVENT OF AN EVENT CANCELLATION.
ALL PARTICIPANTS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR KNOWING THE ACTIVITY THEY ARE SIGNING UP FOR AND NO EXCEPTIONS SHALL BE MADE.THINKING ONE OF OUR EVENTS IS A WALKING EVENT ISN'T OUR RESPONSIBILITY WHEN THEY ARE NOT ADVERTISED IN SUCH A WAY.
DEFERALS UP TO 21 DAYS PRIOR TO THE EVENT. PLEASE BE AWARE OF THIS IMPORTANT INFORMATION.
ALL DEFERRED PLACES CANNOT BE TRANSFERRED, EXCHANGED FOR ANOTHER EVENT OR CASH AND WILL NOT BE DEFERRED FOR A 2ND YEAR!
NO REFUNDS AND NO TRANSFERS. (REASONS AVAILABLE ON REQUEST)
RACE DIRECTOR/OFFICIAL'S WORD AND TERMS ARE FINAL AND NON-NEGOTIABLE.
ALL OF YOUR INFORMATION STORED ON OUR BUSINESS DATABASES INCLUDING THAT OF RIDER HQ (OUR ENTRY SYSTEM) ARE PROTECTED BY THE DATA PROTECTION ACT 2018 AND FALL IN LINE WITH CURRENT GDPR REGULATIONS AND GUIDELINES.
NEVER WILL WE HERE AT BYS VYKEN EVENTS SHARE YOUR INFORMATION WITH ANYBODY AT ALL UNLESS REQUESTED BY YOURSELVES IN THE MOST OF EXTREME AND EMERGENCY CIRCUMSTANCES.
