"The Goat - Cornwall"

August 1st - November 1st 2020

Virtually run 40 or 20 of Cornwall's highest hills selected by Bys Vyken Events.
If you like elevation challenges then this is the ultimate in virtual races for a hill climb challenge.
You won't be wrong to think that most of these hills are indeed nestled and clustered into the magnificent and majestic Bodmin Moor. However there are many hills to climb in places like Tintagel (famed for the King Arthur connection), the UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Camborne, Pool and Redruth, along with climbs that include views of Mount's Bay and St Ives's Bay and the West Penwith and Land's End Peninsula.
If you can't run the hills in person you can run any undulating landscape wherever it is that you live. You don't even have to travel too far. You only need to run the elevation of the challenges. Even treadmills count!
The least amount of miles that completes the stated elevation of the challenge will be top of the leader board and will be declared The G.O.A.T!
Combine that with needing to do your best mountain goat impression  and the fact that we're probably The G.O.A.T of medals in Cornwall, then you've got yourself THE perfect name for this event.
You'll receive a pre event guide to help you prepare for the event, which is ideal for those of you who wish to physically tackle the hills chosen. But as previously stated, you can do this event ANYWHERE within the 3 months of time that you are allocated. Just remember, if you enter after August 1st, you'll still only have until November 1st to finish.
With an epic medal fitting of the event and an optional T-shirt purchase, you'll have a great reminder of climbing higher than Everest. And if you complete the 40 hills you'll have climbed higher that The Himalayas also.
For those wishing to do these 40 or 20 hills in Cornwall, there will be plenty of information made available to you. And for those taking part somewhere else in the world will be able to see the hills they've checked off the list (we recommend starting at the bottom and working your way up). A checklist will be provided for all participants so you can tick the hills off as the elevation is run. That's not compulsory but is and can be a fun thing to do to track your own progress.
You'll be responsible for adding your own miles and elevation onto a web page and you'll be sent the link upon entry. This is based on an honour system and we trust you to upload the correct information. Remember, the only person you cheat is yourself.
You'll also be sent an invite/link to join an exclusive Facebook group just for entrants so you can share your runs and discuss plans, progress and support each other.
(Please note that details of Covid - 19 measures and can be found in the race guide that you will be sent when you enter).
